چکیده
Abstract The black orchid ( Coelogyne pandurata Lindley) is one of the native Indonesian species. In its natural habitat, existence threatened by continuous forest exploitation. Coveted in global market for hybridization purposes, still considered difficult to be grown cultivation and may take years flower. Its conservation breeding carried out through a combination tissue culture mutagen application, as induced mutation increase genetic variation. This experiment aims investigate effects different levels gamma irradiation on plantlets. research design used complete random design, utilizing six (0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 Gy). observation was survival rate, number leaves, roots, shoots, leaf color, plantlet type. Plantlets 10 Gy have best rate new but only leaves 5 dose significantly higher than control. Plantlet growth nearly all stagnated. Root also reduced plantlets 15 above. largest morphological changes are found Gy, therefore this range recommended future orchids.

متن کاملMutation Induction and Creation of Variation in Strawberry, Kurdistan Cultivar, by Gamma Irradiation and Determination of Suitable Irradiation Dosage
Genetic diversity in strawberry is low due to its asexual propagation. One method of increasing genetic diversity, as an important tool in plant breeding, is the use of gamma rays to induce mutation. In order to determine the appropriate dosage of gamma irradiation for genetic diversity creation by mutation in strawberry, Kurdistan cultivar, and to study the influence of various doses of gamma ...
متن کاملThe protective effect of Sambucus ebulus against lung toxicity induced by gamma irradiation in mice
The aim of present study was to investigate the potential antioxidant and lung protective activities of Sambucus ebulus (SE) against toxicity induced by gamma irradiation. Hydroalcoholic extract of SE (20, 50 and 100 mg/kg) was studied for its lung protective activity. Phenol and flavonoid contents of SE were determined. Male C57 mice were divided into ten groups with five mice per group. Only ...
متن کاملThe pollination of a self-incompatible, food-mimic orchid, Coelogyne fimbriata (Orchidaceae), by female Vespula wasps.
BACKGROUND AND AIMS The study of specialized interactions between species is crucial to our understanding of processes in evolutionary ecology due to their profound effect on life cycles and diversification. Obligate pollination by a single wasp species is rare in Orchidaceae except in species with sexually deceptive flowers that are pollinated exclusively by male insects. The object of this st...

Sterilization is defined as any process that effectively kills or eliminates almost all microorganisms like fungi, bacteria, viruses, spore forms. There are many different sterilization methods depending on the purpose of the sterilization and the material that will be sterilized. The choice of the sterilization method alters depending on materials and devices for giving no harm. These steriliz...
